According to the text, a feature story “tends to use more creative writing technique to heighten interest in a subject that might not be as inherently newsworthy. Features may include a narrative storytelling style, a question-and-answer format, a humorous angle, or other techniques found in creative writing."
8 ways to make a feature good:
1.) Write a story that will entertain your reader. Your writing must be exceptional!!
2.) Use some literary techniques, such as humor, drama, dialogue, etc. (Use humor sparingly)
3.) Must be factual, fair, balanced, and complete. ,
4.) Build using nouns and verbs, with very few adjective.
5.) A good feature needs to have a “definite structure, outline, or plan that is clear, obvious, and appropriate to the content. (It should have a beginning, a middle, and an end.)
6.) Should be based on a single point, and that should be stated in a “nut graf” near the beginning. (Nut graf meaning a short sentence or sentences describing the focus of the story. It should also have a lead with 25-30 words.)
7.) Illustrate the point of the story.
8.) Some features are known as human interest stories.
